An Agreement with the University of Skopje in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was signed in 1990, and scientific contacts have developed recently. The country is a member of SEEGrid, and a Minister visited CERN in late 2008. The Government has upgraded the previous Agreement to an International Co-operation Agreement, which was signed by the Prime Minister during a visit to CERN in 2009. Within the framework of this agreement, students and high-school teachers are being sent to CERN for training, and participation in antiproton and LHC experiments are envisaged.
