Rwanda

The Rwandan Government is keen to develop Information Technology. The 1st CERN-UNESCO School on Digital Libraries was held at the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) in 2009. A regional workshop was held in Rwanda in 2009. The UNESCO International Basic Science Programme also financed a training programme for Rwandan high-school teachers at CERN. In 2010, an agreement was signed with the Minister of Education with a view to facilitate training opportunities for Rwandan students and teachers.
