Morocco

In 1997, an International Cooperation Agreement (ICA), was established between CERN and Morocco. This marked the initiation of scientific collaboration between the two entities. Morocco's involvement began when it became a member of the ATLAS collaboration within CERN in the same year. Moroccan physicists played a crucial role in enhancing the Liquid Argon system, undertaking meticulous work on the technologically advanced anodes, totaling 50,000, for the Pre-Sampler Detector.

In January 2004, a specialized agreement for scientific collaboration was forged between IN2P3 of France and Morocco's Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique et Technique (CNRST). This agreement aimed to empower Moroccan physicists by bolstering their academic and industrial capacities and fostering more advantageous engagement with CERN.

As of 2023, Moroccan researchers are having outstanding contributions in three key areas:

Data analysis, encompassing the exploration for novel particles and phenomena that transcend the scope of the standard model.

Hardware design and fabrication, involving the construction and operational management of the high-granularity components.

Implementation of grid computing, including the establishment of a Tier2 center within Morocco.

Experiments
