Join the Partnership and Fundraising section in the International Relations (IR) sector, whose mission is to serve the CERN & Society Foundation!
The Partnerships & Fundraising Section coordinates and conducts fundraising at or on behalf of CERN and the CERN & Society Foundation, as well as the dissemination of, and compliance with, CERN's fundraising standards, including the Ethical Policy and the Policy for the Recognition of Donors.
The CERN & Society Foundation, established in June 2014, is the charity through which charitable gifts for CERN & Society (C&S) projects are raised from companies, trusts, foundations and individuals.
As a Partnerships & Fundraising Officer, you will join a small, multi-tasking team and drive fundraising, developing new business and loyalty strategies, supporting the CERN & Society Foundation mission.
The selected candidate will contribute to:
- Defining and implementing the CERN & Society fundraising strategy.
- Participating in prospect identification, research and segmentation.
- Implementing marketing and communication campaigns over multiple channels (digital and offline).
- Producing and editing communications material for fundraising purposes.
- Acquiring new contacts (online and offline) to increase the donor pool.
- Cultivation and relationship building with donors.
- Developing proposals for various matters pertaining to fundraising.
- Monitoring and evaluation.
- Preparing the fundraising annual report and ongoing status reports.
- Ensuring overall account management and stewardship of existing supporters, including events planning for a high-level donor experience.
The Partnership & Fundraising Officer will also take part in other activities in collaboration with CERN & Society project leaders, such as:
- Project identification.
- Strategic planning, annual budget planning, overall financial data analysis and reporting.
- Development of fundraising cases for support.
- Development of project proposal/presentations for CERN boards.
- Communication about fundraising activities including via the CERN & Society website.
Qualifications/skills required
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- You have graduated, or are about to graduate, with a university degree (BSc or MSc) level and have no more than 2 years’ relevant experience after obtaining your MSc degree;
- Kindly note that experience prior to the latest obtained degree will not be taken into account for the calculation of your overall years of experience.
Essential skills and experience:
- You have professional training in the field of fundraising (or equivalent).
- Excellent spoken and written English is essential, French is an asset.
- Knowledge of CiviCRM or other CRM software packages would be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Desire and ability to work in a team within a large international organisation.
- Creative, results-orientated approach and desire to set high standards.
- Ability to take initiative and drive proposals forward.
