An Agreement with the University of Skopje in the Republic of North Macedonia was signed in 1990, and scientific contacts have developed recently. The country is a member of SEEGrid, and a Minister visited CERN in late 2008. The Government has upgraded the previous Agreement to an International Cooperation Agreement (ICA), which was signed by the Prime Minister during a visit to CERN in 2009. Within the framework of this agreement, students and high-school teachers are being sent to CERN for training, and participation in the AD and LHC experiments are envisaged.
